Cooling Fans & Blowers — selection guide

Cooling Fans & Blowers: 879 models, frame sizes 24–254 mm, maximum airflow 2–4,800 m³/h, static pressure to 2,650 Pa, DC, AC and EC motors, across 54 series. 157 of them carry a measured P-Q curve and 864 a dimensional drawing.

This is the compact end of the catalogue: 879 models for cooling electronics, cabinets and equipment. DC axial fans (LWAD) run from 25 × 25 mm to 200 mm frame with thicknesses from 10 to 60 mm, DC centrifugal blowers (LWFD) from Ø40 to Ø120 mm for pushing air through heatsinks and ducts, EC cooling fans (LWAE) from 60 to 254 mm on a 100–240 V universal AC input, and AC air blowers (LWB / LWT) for blow-off and air-knife duties up to 2,650 Pa.

Frames are UL94 V-0 plastic, supply voltages 5 / 12 / 24 / 48 V DC, and the model code carries frame, thickness and speed grade — LWAD8025HL is an 80 × 25 mm fan in the H-speed L-variant. Ball-bearing versions are the standard for continuous duty.

How to select from this range

  1. Estimate airflow from the heat load: Q (m³/h) ≈ 3 × P (W) / ΔT (K), then add the resistance of filters, grilles and heatsinks.
  2. Take the largest frame that fits — a bigger fan at lower speed gives the same airflow at far lower noise and longer life.
  3. Use a DC blower (LWFD) where air must be forced through a narrow channel or dense heatsink; an axial fan where the enclosure is open.
  4. Specify the control interface at the outset: PWM, tacho (FG), alarm (RD) or 0–10 V; it is part of the model code.
  5. Check life at the real ambient: ball-bearing L10 ratings are given at 40 °C and halve for roughly every 10 K above.

FAQ — Cooling Fans & Blowers

How do I decode a cooling fan model such as LWAD8025HL?

LWAD = DC axial cooling fan (LWFD = DC blower, LWAE = EC), 80 = frame in mm, 25 = thickness in mm, H = speed grade (H / M / L), L = variant. Within one frame the speed grades trade airflow against noise; the technical data lists each.

Which frame sizes are in stock as standard?

40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 92 and 120 mm frames carry the most variants (up to 15 per series), which is where samples ship fastest. 25, 30, 172 and 200 mm are also catalogued.

Can you supply PWM control and tacho output?

Yes. Most DC frames are available with PWM speed input, FG tacho signal and RD alarm output; EC models add 0–10 V control. Tell us the required signal when you request the sample.

Do the cooling fans have UL / CE documentation?

Frames are UL94 V-0, CE / RoHS declarations are available per model, and the DC centrifugal blower line is ETL listed (Intertek control no. 5022563).
