Commercial Centrifugal Blowers

Commercial and industrial blower range: DD direct drive, DDM, AT / ADH / RDH belt drive, REM / TEM and RLM plug fans for commercial kitchens, ventilation units and process air. Final selection is confirmed at the duty point (airflow / static pressure / voltage / control mode) and by project verification.

Filters use nameplate maximum values (max airflow at zero static pressure, max static pressure at zero airflow). Check the actual operating point on the performance curve of each model.

Commercial Centrifugal Blowers — selection guide

Commercial Centrifugal Blowers: 26 models, impellers Ø178–500 mm, maximum airflow 139–11,000 m³/h, static pressure to 910 Pa, AC and EC motors, across 2 series. 22 of them carry a measured P-Q curve and 26 a dimensional drawing.

Commercial centrifugal blowers are the housed, double-inlet fans used in commercial kitchens, ventilation units and process equipment: LWFA-E EC direct-drive blowers from Ø200 to Ø500 mm and LWDD10 / LWDD12 AC blowers, 139 to 11,000 m³/h at 215–910 Pa. The scroll housing recovers velocity pressure, so these are rated at total pressure at the discharge flange, unlike plug fans.

The range is split by impeller diameter: Ø178–254 mm for hoods and compact ventilation units, Ø280–500 mm for larger extraction and make-up air duties.

How to select from this range

  1. Select by total pressure at the discharge flange, including the duct, filter and hood resistance.
  2. Direct drive (LWFA-E, LWDD) has no belts to service; EC versions give speed control without a frequency inverter.
  3. Housed blowers are handed — confirm inlet side and discharge orientation against the drawing.
  4. For kitchen extraction specify grease and temperature exposure; motor-out-of-airstream configurations are available.

Where these fans are used

  • Commercial kitchen extraction hoods
  • Make-up air and ventilation units
  • Ovens, dryers and process equipment

Curves marked “measured” come from our own test rigs per AMCA 210 / ISO 5801 methods; digitised catalogue curves are flagged as such in the selector — see the test labs and certificates. Final selection is confirmed at the duty point and by project validation.

FAQ — Commercial Centrifugal Blowers

What is the difference between LWFA-E and LWDD blowers?

LWFA-E blowers are EC direct-drive double-inlet units from Ø200 to Ø500 mm with 0–10 V speed control; LWDD10 and LWDD12 are AC direct-drive blowers in the 10-inch and 12-inch impeller class for fixed-speed duties.

Can I get a belt-driven blower for larger duties?

Belt-driven AT / ADH / RDH sizes are quoted on request for duties beyond 11,000 m³/h; send the duty point and we propose the size and pulley ratio.

How are commercial blowers rated?

By impeller diameter, airflow and total pressure at the outlet flange, measured per AMCA 210 methods on our test rig; the curve on each model page shows the full envelope.
